Contraindications

Manicure, Pedicure & Shellac Contraindications

 

A contraindication is something that prevents you from receiving a treatment as it may make the condition worse. Please take a look at the contraindications listed for your treatment. If you believe that you may have one of the contraindications please contact me before booking.

Contra-indications that prevent a manicure or pedicure treatment:

  • Fungal Infections.

These typeof infections spread very rapidly and often thrive in damp areas and can appear soft and spongy. For example: athlete’s foot (ringworm of the foot) ringworm of the hand.

  • Bacterial Infections. This type of infection is usually characterised by swelling, tenderness and redness in the area. For example: paronychia, whitlows, onychia.

  • Broken sore skin

  • Varuccas

  • In growing Toe Nails.

  • Diabetes

Tinting Contraindications

 

A contraindication is something that prevents you from receiving a treatment as it may make the condition worse. Please take a look at the contraindications listed for your treatment. If you believe that you may have one of the contraindications please contact me before booking.

Contra-indications that prevent tinting eyelashes & eyebrows.

  • If there has been any reaction to a patch test

  • conjunctivitis

  • Hayfever

  • Any skin irration or hypersensitivity around the eye

  • Cut, bruises & abbrasions (eye area)

  • recent scar tissue

  • Atopic eczema or Psoriasis

Waxing Contraindications

 

A contraindication is something that prevents you from receiving a treatment as it may make the condition worse. Please take a look at the contraindications listed for your treatment. If you believe that you may have one of the contraindications please contact me before booking.

Contra-indications that prevent waxing

  • If you are taking anti-biotics or acne medication.

  • Use of skin peeling, skin thinning preparations.

  • Varicose Veins.

  • Underarms: Mastitis.

  • Skin disorders or diseases, such as bruising or recent haemorrhage, Scar tissue (especially recent).

  • Warts, Moles and skin tabs (area can be avoided).

  • Fractures or Sprains.

  • Bruising.

  • Diabetes - some people with diabetes have skin that is very slow to heal. The skin will be watched closely to make sure it does not over react to treatments.

  • Sensitivity test may be conducted.

  • Sunburn.

  • Use of sunbeds 24 hours prior to waxing.

  • If you are receiving cancer therapy (chemotherapy or radiation).

Facial & Pro Power Peel Contraindications

Contra-indications that prevent facials

  • Has recieved a resurfacing skin procedure such as laser, light therapy, microdermabrasion or chemical peel within the past two weeks.

  • Has recieved botox or other injectables within the past week.

  • has used Retin-A within the past 48 hourse.

  • Has used Isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past six months.

  • Has waxed within the past 72 hours.

  • Has a contagious skin disease or infection such as an active cold sore.

  • is pregnant or lactating.
